Here is the program for the Katrina memorial observance scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m. on the Biloxi Town Green:
Welcome by Mayor A.J. Holloway;
Singing of the National Anthem by Ronny Broussard;
Opening prayer by the Most Rev. Roger Morin, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi;
Prayer for the victims by the Rev. Eric Dickey of First Missionary Baptist Church;
Reading of the names of the victims by Biloxi High School students Kendall Holloway and Elliot Harper; and St. Patrick Catholic High School students Davin Drawdy and Ben Whiteside;
Prayer for the first responders by the Rev. Harold Roberts of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer;
Prayer for the volunteers by Milt Grishman, lay leader of Congregation Beth Israel;
Musical selection by vocalist Ronny Broussard (“Imagine,” by John Lennon);
Remarks by Mike Womack, executive director of Mississippi Emergency Management Agency;
Unveiling of “Marlin’s marlin,” a 24-foot sculpture on the Town Green created by Marlin Miller.
Closing prayer: Dr. Argile Smith of First Baptist Church of Biloxi.
Limited seating will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is scheduled to run about 30 minutes.
