Preservation tour to host free visits to Beauvoir

The city’s “Thursdays in May” free preservation series visits Beauvoir, the post-Civil war home of Jefferson Davis, the only President of the Confederate States of America. The program begins at 5:30 p.m.

Richard Forte, acting director of Beauvoir, will give visitors a status report on the construction of the Presidential Library, disucss Beauvoir operations since the restoration of the home itself.

After the presentation, the home will be open for tours until 7:30 p.m.

Refreshments sponsored by the Mississippi Gulf Coast National Heritage Area will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.
