About a third of the residents of Eagle Point are being advised to boil their drinking water today and Wednesday, as a precaution after a loss of water pressure occurred today.
Those under the boil-water notice are residents of South River Drive, Bayou Circle, the portion fo Shorecrest south of Melody Lane, East Shorecrest Drive, Eagle Point Circle, Riviere Vue Drive, Doty Street, Bald Eagle Drive, Ouail Cove, Pin Oak Drive south of Skyhawk Court and Skyhawk Cove.
The city has also posted signs at the entrance to the impacted neighborhoods.
The loss of water pressure occurred when water was interrupted as city crews repaired a leak near an abandoned water well.
The state department of health requires two consecutive positive samples when pressure is lost. Samples will be tested today and Wednesday, and the boil-water notice is expected to be lifted Thursday. Signs confirming the lifting of the notice should be posted in Eagle Point Thursday.
