Police to host Night Out Against Crime fair

The Biloxi Police Department will hold its annual Annual Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday from 5:30 o 8 p.m. on the grounds of Nativity Elementary School, just south of the Lopez-Quave Public Safety Building on Porter Avenue.

National Night Out against Crime is an annual event held in more than 10,000 communities nationwide and at overseas military installations. More than 34 million people participate annually. The communities and police join forces to promote police-community partnerships, crime, drug and violence prevention, safety and neighborhood unity.

Biloxi’s event will feature games for the children and a lot of food. Said police spokesman Jackie Rhodes: “We’ll be serving hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries along with drinks. Domino’s Pizza will also be serving food.
“The Biloxi Police Department along with other local organizations and companies will have informative booths set up for all to view.”

“This is a free event and we encourage all Biloxi Residents who want to join their Police Department in sending a powerful message to the criminal element that their activities will not be tolerated here to attend.”
