Here are photos from the wake of an incident this afternoon when barges being pushed by a tugboat collided with the fender system protecting the Popp’s Ferry bridge. A section of the fender system on the southwest side of the bridge was damaged and detached. The bridge remained open to vehicular and marine traffic as city engineers inspercted the structure and installed emergency lighting to mark the marine hazard. City of Biloxi photos.
