Off the coastline today (June 25, 2010)

Here are photographs of the boomed areas inside Deer Island, boom at the I-110 highrise in Back Bay, boom being applied off a barge at the east end of Deer Island, and a boat pulling absorbant boom 4.5 miles south of the Biloxi Lighthouse, at the leading edge of a swath of weathered oil that nearby vessel operators said was several miles long. Photos show Mayor A.J. Holloway, Biloxi Police Capt. Harold Windham and Assistant Police Chief Linda Atterberry aboard a city police boat, which left the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor about 11:45 a.m. today and returned about 2:15 p.m. Photos by Vincent Creel.
