Performs routine public contact and safety work in assisting and/or teaching swimming lessons and serving as a lifeguard. Maintains the facility by performing janitorial maintenance and other duties for upkeep of the facility. Patrols the swimming pool and aquatic competitions throughout the year. Assists in teaching, teaches occasionally and assists in maintaining records of swimming lessons according to a prescribed routine and curriculum. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as answering phone, running errands, picking up supplies needed for activities, conducting classes, collecting fees, helping set up for classes, events, etc.
Education & Experience:
Applicant must be at least 16 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and/or working towards such in good standing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements:
First Aid, CPR, AED certification. Lifeguard training by American Red Cross or YMCA. Must have valid Mississippi Driver’s License or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
