The Biloxi Natatorium will be getting a new coat of paint and some minor tile work for the holidays.
The city-operated facility, which offers recreational swimming and swimming lessons in an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool, will close Dec. 22 and is expected to re-open around Jan. 17.
Parks and Recreation Director Nathan Sullivan said city workers will apply new coats of paint in the lobby and dressing rooms, and will make minor tile repairs.
The Natatorium averages about 230 visitors per day, but Sullivan said swimmers can use the pool at the Donal Snyder Sr. Community Center on Pass Road while the Natatorium is being re-painted. The Snyder center pool is open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.
Swimmers should note that the Synder center will close from noon Dec. 24 until 6 a.m. Dec. 29 for Christmas, and Jan. 1 and 2 for New Year’s.
The Snyder center phone number is 436-5191.
