Robert “Mike” Nail received the majority of the votes in the primary runoff election for the Ward 3 seat of the Biloxi City Council.
Nail took the lead Tuesday night after the polls closed at the West Biloxi Branch Library. Nail received 195 votes, or nearly 62 percent of the 316 votes that were accepted. Dixie Newman received 121 votes.
The Municipal Election Commission will certify the results by next week, and Nail will officially be declared the Ward 3 candidate for the general election set for June 3. Nail will appear unopposed on that ballot. Â
