Mayor A.J. Holloway, acting on advice from Gov. Haley Barbour, will ask the Biloxi City Council to declare that a state of emergency because of Tropical Storm Lee.
Holloway said the governor noted that he was declaring a state of emergency, and that Biloxi should also, which would help qualify the city for reimbursements should any storm or flooding damage lead to a federal disaster declaration.
The City Council is expected to meet at 3:30 p.m. to consider the mayor’s request.
