Mayor gives progress report to Chamber audience

Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich addressed a full house for Breakfast with the Mayor this week, with a recap and update on city projects and issues.

“We got a lot of spinning plates right now”, Gilich said during the breakfast, “and were trying to add some more”.

Gilich, who spoke to a Biloxi Chamber audience at the Hard Rock Live on Wednesday, gave an update on the infrastructure project, Keesler gate, East Biloxi Living, the boardwalks, Popp’s Ferry Extension and Causeway, Margaritaville, East-West Corridor, East Biloxi Convention Study, beach outfalls, Kuhn Street boat launch expansion, Saenger, and Bonnet Carre Spillway.

Also part of the event was the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce Officer and Firefighter of the 2nd Quarter Awards.  Biloxi Police Officer Michael Wheeler received the honor for locating and assisting in the arrest of the suspect in the capital murder of Officer Robert McKeithen. Firefighters John Park, Nick Dubuisson and Josh McGoey received the honor for administering lifesaving skills to a individual in cardiac arrest.
