Baseball fans have a chance to see some of the Coast’s best high school players in a couple of free exhibition games Thursday at MGM Park.
The Barry Lyons Fall Wooden Bat League, which recently completed a six-week season at the A.J. Holloway Sports Complex, will have two showcase games Thursday at MGM Park in downtown Biloxi.
The games, with Coach James Brune vs. Coach Barry Lyons, will be at 5:30 p.m. (ninth and 10th grade players) and at 7:15 p.m. (11th and 12th grade players). Players from across the Mississippi Gulf Coast are involved in the games.
MGM Park gates and the concession stand will open at 4:30 p.m.
Said Lyons, who travels to New York City this weekend to see his Mets in the World Series: “We invite all baseball fans to come to MGM Park on Thursday evening to watch these dedicated and talented high school baseball players enjoy the experience of playing the game  they love, at MGM Park, the Home of the Biloxi Shuckers.”
