Looking for a Job? ‘We’re hiring’

The City of Biloxi is looking to fill a number of vacant positions and will be recruiting applicants during a city job fair on Wednesday and Saturday.

The job fair will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. both days at the Biloxi Civic Center, 578 Howard Ave.

Interested applicants will get a chance to speak with city employees from various departments about positions including police officers, dispatchers, firefighters, laborers, utility crew members, equipment mechanics, engineers, and maintenance workers, to name a few.

The city currently has more than 640 employees and nearly 100 vacancies.

“We’re hiring, and we mean business,” said Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich. “Biloxi is a great place to work, with a robust benefits plan.”

Among those benefits, new employees earn vacation days, receive 12 paid holiday per year and affordable medical, dental and vision plans for employees and their families. There’s even a convenient free clinic.

The City of Biloxi is an equal opportunity employer, and employees also enjoy Civil Service protection.
