The Local History and Genealogy Department is hosting a special genealogy program on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Biloxi Public Library, 580 Howard Ave.
In anticipation of Biloxi’s 2013 upcoming October cemetery tours, the Biloxi Public Library will present a special programming event. The staff has prepared a unique evening of displays, tombstone rubbings, cemetery data, and examples of the special resources found in the Biloxi Local History and Genealogy Department for genealogical research.
While the passing of a loved one is a sorrowful event, his life story continues for future generations, based on oral histories and written documentation. This event will educate the public on the importance of life research.
Door prizes will be given.
A small traditional reception will follow the event.
This event is free and open to the public.
