Chainsaw artist Dayton Scoggins of Sandersville, Miss. this week began working on another tree sculpture in the center median of U.S. 90 in Biloxi. Scoggins is crafting a pod of bottlenose dolphins from a 15-foot tall standing dead oak in the center median of U.S. 90, several blocks west of the Biloxi Lighthouse.
Below are photos showing his progress this morning. (Click on images to enlarge them.) The first two frames show the dead tree before MDOT crews prepped it for the sculpting.
You can see Scoggins’s previous Biloxi efforts — before-and-after photos and video, and a background story — in the city’s online Photo Gallery.
