Mayor A.J. Holloway on Thursday plans to remind Biloxians of the unprecedented success that the city was enjoying before Hurricane Katrina and lay out a plan for how the community will now embark on a process that will lead to even greater prosperity.
A capacity audience is expected for what will be Holloway’s 13th annual State of the City address, which the mayor will deliver during a Biloxi Bay Chamber-sponsored luncheon at the IP Casino Resort. The last of the 520 available seats were sold nearly two weeks ago, making this the quickest sell-out in the history of the event.
Doors to the luncheon will open at 11 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:30 a.m. A video montage of national news reports from the days after the storm in Biloxi will begin at 11 a.m.
Chamber leaders have advised guests that ample parking will be available in IP’s parking garage, particularly on floors eight through 10. Elevators will offer easy access to the second floor, where chamber and IP staff will guide luncheon guests to the IP ballroom hosting the luncheon.
Cable One Cable TV Advertising will broadcast the address to its Biloxi subscribers on Friday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Cable 13, and highlights of the address and photographs from the event will be posted on the city web site shortly after noon on Thursday.
