Holloway sets curfew until further notice in Biloxi

Mayor A.J. Holloway announced this afternoon that a curfew will be in effect in the City of Biloxi from 7 o’clock tonight until further notice, meaning residents are subject to being arrested if found on Biloxi city streets.

Holloway issued the order as winds and seas increased as a result of Hurricane Ivan.

“We’re asking everyone to remain in a safe location – and off the streets until further notice,” Holloway said. “And people need to remember that this curfew is in effect until further notice.”
Officers with the Biloxi Police Department are continuing to patrol city streets, and will question individuals found on city streets after 7 o’clock tonight.

Harrison County Civil Defense Director Linda Rouse has also announced a countywide curfew from 7 tonight until 7 Thursday morning.
