Hiller Park splash to open soon

Residents and visitors to Hiller Park will soon have a new way to stay cool while enjoying the outdoors.

On Saturday, April 8, city and county leaders will open the community’s newest splash pad, at Hiller Park, with a ribbon cutting beginning at 11 a.m.

The 40-by-50-foot splash pad, which is north of the Hiller Park playground, features water hoops, a blaster and dumping buckets.

The project began in January and once complete, will cost $50,000 in material and county labor.

“I am thankful to Harrison County Supervisor Beverly Martin for this addition to Hiller Park,” said Biloxi Parks and Recreation Director Cheryl Bell.  “It has been a wonderful partnership, and I am proud to see the increased amenities at the park.  There is just so much to enjoy at Hiller.”

The city has two other splash pads, one at Point Cadet Plaza, 121 Cadet St. and another at Popp’s Ferry recreational area, 2150 Popp’s Ferry Road. All three splash pads will open to the public Friday, April 14 and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
