Last year’s Halloween at Hiller was so popular with families that organizers are taking steps to make access to the park easier. To help police keep traffic flowing, there’s going to be one entrance, off Atkinson Road, and one exit, at Hiller Drive.
If you’re attending Halloween at Hiller on Friday between 6 and 8 p.m., you’ll find a host of free activities on the Barbara Ferrill Softball Fields geared to those 11 and younger. Among the attractions will be  games, inflatables, more than 30 local businesses offering trick or treating booths, and food sold for a minimal fee by the Friends of Hiller Park.
And, the biggest changes this year:  Beginning at 4 p.m., all vehicles must enter the park through the west entrance off Jim Money and Atkinson roads. The eastern entrances to the park, at Hiller Drive, will be used only for exiting the park after the event. Also, once inside, police officers will direct all vehicles to the softball fields for parking.
Parking also will be available at the Donal Snyder Community Center, 2520 Pass Road, where CTA will provide shuttle service to and from Hiller Park.
Those attending Halloween at Hiller are encouraged to bring a can of pet food, which will be donated to the Humane Society of South Mississippi.
