Fort Bayou bridge closes Sunday night

The Fort Bayou bridge in Ocean Springs is closing for 45 days beginning Sunday night, meaning I-10’s Exit 50 will no longer provide easy access to Biloxi.

The bridge closes Sunday night at 10 for $20 million in repairs and is scheduled to re-open in mid-May.

About 35,000 cars a day use the bridge. Biloxi-bound motorists on I-10, I-110 or Mississippi 57 may see an uptick in traffic and slight delays.

The bridge closure is one of the topics in this week’s Biloxi A to Z report, which also features guest Cynthia Dobbs Sutton of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce Main Street – Tourism Bureau.  Other topics in the 14-minute program: the latest on COVID-19 and vaccinations, a weekend preview, spring cleaning at the Biloxi Lighthouse, and the Biloxi Natatorium is closing thirty minutes earlier, at 7:30 p.m., these days.
