Fishermen advised to remove traps from Mississippi Sound

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is advising crab fishermen
with crab traps in the Mississippi Sound to consider the temporary removal of traps from
those waters.

This precautionary advisory is a result of concerns of possible interference with
potential oil spill abatement activities that are being conducted in association with the Deepwater Horizon accident in the north central Gulf of Mexico. Crab trap fishermen are
further advised to take into consideration the severe weather conditions that are being
predicted by the National Weather Service for this weekend.
