The Biloxi Fire Department’s Training Division is comprised of 6 Field Training Officers and one civilian employee under the Deputy Chief of Training. This division provides training for more than 160 members of the Fire Department ensuring readiness for all types of emergency incidents.
New recruits must be certified as Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians within their first year, which consists of over 530 training hours.
Each year, firefighters complete over 250 hours of training through several different avenues such as classroom, online, hands-on, and multi-company drills.
The Training Division also provides CPR training to other agencies such as the Biloxi Police Department, Parks and Recreation, and the Department of Marine Resources.
