Fire stations receiving hurricane donations through the weekend

Anyone wanting to assist the Biloxi Fire Department with donations for Hurricane Michael victims has until Sunday to drop off items.

The department is currently taking part in a Coastwide relief effort, where residents can drop off supplies at any local fire station. The items may include: gift cards for Wal-Mart, Visa, Home Depot, Lowes; tire repair kits, Fix-a-Flat; bottled water; Gatorade; Pedialyte; flavor packs for waters; lighter and matches; batteries and flashlights; phone and car chargers for iPhone and Android; power strips; hair clippers; baby wipes, diapers and toiletries; bug spray; cleaning supplies; and Advil, Aleve or Tylenol. No clothes are being accepted.

“We want to thank everyone for the donations we have already received,” said Biloxi Fire Operations Chief Andy Mason.  “We are sure the victims will be thankful for this overwhelming support from our community.”

Items will be picked up on Monday by the Gulfport Fire Department for deliver to Florida next week.

Donations will be accepted at all Biloxi fire stations until 2 p.m. on Sunday.
