Finally Friday kicks off weekend

Main Street’s Christmas edition of “Finally Friday!” is now underway in the Rue Magnolia until 8 this evening.

The monthly first-Friday-of-the-month affair, which has a Christmas flavor this evening, is taking right place now in Margaret Tremmell Peresich Park, at the corner of corner of Jackson Street and Rue Magnolia.

Those stopping by the outdoor gathering will find plenty of entertainment, and can get their Finally Friday card stamped by three participating downtown merchantes to qualify for gift certificates and other prizes.

Christmas at Beauvoir: Singing and barking

This weekend’s Christmas at Beauvoir lineup will feature book-signings, performances by Ole South Dulcimer Group, St. Patrick drama students, Myles Sharp and TV’s Rebecca Powers, Lindsay Jones,
John Westley, the Lipscombe Sisters and on Sunday, the national landmark goes to the dogs, with family dog photos and Humane Society pet adoptions.
