Easter egg drop, Hiller events moved to Sunday

The raindrops have won over the egg drop.

The inaugural Easter Egg drop at MGM Park, planned for Saturday, has been moved to Sunday afternoon to avoid the forecasted inclement weather on Saturday.

A Harrison County Sheriff’s Office helicopter will drop more than 12,000 prize-filled eggs onto the field at MGM Park on Sunday. The times are 1 p.m. for ages 2-4, 2 p.m. for ages 5-7 and 3 p.m. for ages 8-10.  In addition to the egg hunts, activities outside the park will include games, bounce houses and more.   Admission is free.

Among the prizes will be Easter baskets, movie tickets, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center passes, Biloxi Shuckers VIP tickets, candy and more.

The event is a collaborative effort of the City of Biloxi, Biloxi Main Street, Biloxi Shuckers,  Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Harrison County Sheriff’s office and presenting sponsor Merit Health Biloxi.

Meanwhile at Hiller Park, the Easter Extravaganza, also planned for Saturday, has too been moved to Sunday afternoon. The event, open to children ages 11 and younger, will now take place from 3 to 5 p.m. with the egg hunt beginning at 4 p.m.
