April 25: Development report: Yet another active week

By Jerry Creel, Community Development Director

This week has proven to be another active period in the Community Development Department.

On Wednesday we received the first package of building  plans and specifications for the new minor league baseball stadium. Once the plans are approved by our plans examiner, and the Biloxi Fire Department, a building permit will be issued for the $36 million dollar project.

The Golden Nugget Casino Resort has requested temporary Certificates of Occupancy for their new gaming area, the new swimming pool, and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Restaurant. Openings are scheduled for next week. Site work began this week on the new Walmart Neighborhood Market on Pass Road, and permits were issued for $710,000 in renovations to the new Goodwill location on Pass Road.

Permits were also issued for a new Smoothie King on Popp’s Ferry Road at Pass Road, a new Ice Cream parlor addition to Snapper’s Seafood Restaurant at Beach Boulevard and Rodenburg, and 2 new single family houses.
