All applicants for the position of Biloxi Dispatcher/call taker must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Registered voter of the county in which he/she resides
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Insurable by City of Biloxi insurance
Documents:
- Copy of high school diploma or GED equivalent; or a valid copy of transcript to verify course work
- Copy of birth certificate
- Copy voter registration card
- Copy of driver’s license

Annual or Vacation Leave
Annual Leave is earned and accumulated upon completion of one month of continuous service. Each full-time permanent and appointed employee of the City of Biloxi shall earn annual leave as follows:

Sick Leave
All full-time employees accumulate 6.5 hours of sick leave per month, beginning upon completion of two months of service.
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Available to full-time employees and their eligible dependents at a low monthly cost. When a full-time employee satisfies 60 days of service, coverage will begin on the first day of the following month.
Life/AD&D InsuranceOne (1) times employee’s base salary (minimum $25,000) which includes Accidental Death and Dismemberment for full-time employee, $5,000.00 for spouse, and $5,000.00 for children over six (6) months old of full-time employee.

Educational Incentive Pay
Full-time employees with at least one year of full-time service with the City may be entitled to education benefit pay, upon application on their one-year anniversary date:
Associate Degree or equivalent of at least 64 semester hours of credit | $50.00 per month |
Bachelor’s Degree | $100.00 per month |
Master’s Degree | $150.00 per month |
Doctorate or Juris Doctorate Degree | $200.00 per month |
Tuition Assistance (Full-time employee)
Full-time employees with at least one year of full-time service with the City may be entitled to pay or reimburse reasonable tuition charges not eligible for scholarship or payment from other sources up to $5,250.00 during a calendar year with a grade of at least a C, or graduate level with a grade of at least a B, from an accredited institution of higher learning.
