Debris haulers have big weekend

The city’s debris teams hauled away more than 14,000 cubic yards of debris over the weekend, primarily from such major thoroughfares as Lorraine and Popp’s Ferry roads and U.S. 90.

The latest figures — along with a new map that allows residents to track which day debris was picked up — are among the news items in today’s Biloxi A to Z report.

Also making headlines: The latest coronavirus numbers and increasing numbers of new positive tests and more hospitalizations. Today, the Mississippi Department of Health reported that more than a thousand people are hospitalized statewide with the coronavirus, and 1,200 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, including 119 in Harrison County.
