Persons who have never voted in Biloxi municipal elections or have moved since the last election will need to register by Saturday at noon in order to vote in the May 7 party primaries in Biloxi.
Voter registration is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harrison County Circuit Clerk’s office in downtown Biloxi, and this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at City Hall.
In order to be eligible to vote, potential voters must be a U.S. citizen, be a resident of Biloxi for at least 30 days before voting, have never been convicted of a felony or have had their rights restored, and must be at least 18 years old before the next general election.
Those who cast ballots in the party primaries will have to vote either Democrat or Republican on May 7. Winners in the party primaries – those who receive more than 50 percent of the votes cast in their race – will face the winners of their opposing party and independent candidates in the general election, which will be held on June 4.
