Council to see new video promoting Gulf Coast

The Biloxi City Council next week will get a look at a new five-minute video promoting the Mississippi Gulf Coast for passengers on Delta Air Lines.

The video presentation is one of a handful of items on the agenda for the council’s 1:30 meeting Tuesday afternoon at City Hall. Among the other issues: Presentation of the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report covering FY 2010, hiring of legal counsel for the pending tax-increment financing for road improvements near Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Casino, and measures to purchase equipment for the police and fire departments.

The video, which will be presented by Airport Authority Chairman Frank Genzer and Airport Marketing Director Kristi Bennett, was produced by the airport and the Mississippi Development Authority.

“This video will air worldwide across Delta Air Lines’ system during the month of September and will reach a captive audience of nearly 2.6 million passengers over 17,000 flights,” Bennett said. “We hope this video will encourage more tourists to visit the Mississippi Gulf Coast while also encouraging business travelers to consider us as their next destination for meetings and conventions.”
