Council to discuss slip fees in first of two meetings

The fees for slips at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and Point Cadet Marina, and how those fees are determined, will be discussed during a special meeting of the Biloxi City Council on Tuesday morning at 10:30 at City Hall.

The morning meeting will preface an afternoon meeting where councilmembers face an agenda of nearly 20 measures.

Among the issues at the afternoon meeting, councilmembers will consider an ordinance recommended by Mayor Gilich that will require permits be obtained by utility firms doing work in the public rights of way. The agenda also includes a zoning case that would allow the construction of 12 townhomes on three existing lots on Moran Alley, off Elder Street on Back Bay, and an agreement that would see a moon rock – officially known as “Lunar Sample Number 14321, 1787” – be displayed in the Biloxi Visitors Center.
