Council meeting to observe social distancing

Those attending meetings of the Biloxi City Council today will notice a return to social distancing.

Two meetings are scheduled – a 4 p.m. budget workshop and a 6 p.m. regularly scheduled meeting – and Chief Administrative Officer Mike Leonard says that social-distancing measures will be in place in the audience and among meeting participants. Some seats in the council room will be left vacant to increase the space between individuals and decrease the frequency of contact. The measures are designed to reduce the chance of spreading COVID-19.

Masks are optional, Leonard said.

The meetings also will be carried on the city’s website – click on the LIVE button – with replays tonight at 9 on BTV and on-demand on the city’s YouTube page.
