Community meeting set for Woolmarket sidewalk project

Residents in the Woolmarket Community are invited to learn more about the sidewalk project soon to begin in the area.

City leaders, along with the project contractor, will be at the Woolmarket Community Center, 13034 Kayleigh Cove, on Thursday at 6 p.m. to brief residents on the project and answer any questions attendees may have.

The Woolmarket sidewalks project will include the installation of 1.25 miles of sidewalks along Woolmarket Road from Lorraine Road to Jim Byrd Road and along Lorraine Road from Woolmarket Road to Nature’s Trail.

The work will cost $998,500, funded by MDOT, and is expected to begin in September and be completed by March 2025. The project timeline is based on the actual start date. Landmark Contracting, Inc. will be conducting the work.

The meeting is open to the public.

Football/cheer: The Biloxi Parks & Recreation Department is holding registration for its football and cheerleading leagues on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon along with the Biloxi Athletic’s Little Indians Football Camp at the Biloxi High School Football Stadium. Registration for the city leagues will also be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Donal M. Snyder Sr. Community Center. For more information, including fees, click here.
