City crews this evening were forced to close a section of Oaklawn Drive, the primary access road into Eagle Point, as a result of a collapsing drainage line near River Estates Circle.
Public Works Director Richard Sullivan said replacing the drainage line, which is 6 feet in diamater, could take as long as a week.
Motorists seeking access into Eagle Point must detour using Woolmarket Road.
“We realize that this is time-consuming detour for those in Eagle Point,” Sullivan said, “so we’re going to get this work done just as soon as the materials arrive.”
