City crews this evening were forced to close a section of Oaklawn Drive, the primary access road into Eagle Point, as a result of a collapsed drainage line between a city fire station and Shorecrest Drive.
Public Works Director Richard Sullivan said replacing the drainage line, which is 3 feet in diamater, could take several days. Crews hoped to begin work this weekend.
Motorists seeking access into Eagle Point must detour using Woolmarket Road.
“We realize that this is time-consuming detour for those in Eagle Point,” Sullivan said, “so we’re going to get this work done just as soon as we can.”
