Calling all volunteers. The City of Biloxi has selected Saturday, April 26 as Great American Cleanup Day, a chance for volunteers to help make Biloxi clean and green.
Individuals, businesses, organizations, church and civic groups are asked to select a specific area and make plans to clean that area Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. Groups can also participate during a weekday if preferred.
Trash bags and gloves will be provided on Saturday morning April 26th at the Biloxi Town Green. Lunch will be provided for all that participate in cleaning up on Saturday

Also this weekend: It’s not too late to be a part of the Biloxi 5K and one-mile trek in downtown Biloxi. The Saturday morning event, which will attract hundreds, is part of Biloxi Public Schools month. For a registration form, click here.

Biloxi baseball news: Biloxi’s Double-A baseball team will introduce its general manager and announce the process to name the team in a press conference today at 1 p.m. at the Biloxi Visitors Center. The public is invited to the ceremony. The team is scheduled to begin playing in Biloxi for the 2015 Southern League season.
Volunteer ceremony: The city will honor dozens of volunteers and name a distinguished volunteer of the year this evening during a 5:30 ceremony at the Biloxi Civic Center. The event is open to the public, and a free meal will be served for volunteers and their guests.
