Group seeks to recognize Preservation heroes

Hurricane Katrina had a tremendous impact on the historic character of Gulf Coast, destroying many beloved landmarks and damaging numerous historic homes, businesses and churches.

Do you know someone who is working to save a historic structure damaged in Hurricane Katrina? Please share their story and help the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Mississippi Heritage Trust recognize their efforts to preserve the rich architectural legacy of the Gulf Coast.

These “Preservation Heroes” will be honored at a reception on Wednesday, May 3 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the courtyard of Mary Mahoney’s Old French House restaurant, 116 Rue Magnolia, Biloxi.

Nominations for “Preservation Heroes” are being accepted through Wednesday, April 12. To see a form, click here.
