City to offer special seating for Mardi Gras parade

The City of Biloxi will again provide special seating for disabled and frail, elderly residents to view Gulf Coast Carnival Association’s 1 p.m. parade on Feb. 20, Mardi Gras Day.

The city is celebrating its 22nd year hosting the special protected seating area, which is on the east side of Lameuse Street, just north of U.S. 90 at the Town Green.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and participants should be at the location no later than 11:30 a.m., which is when police will close Lameuse Street to traffic.

Those interested should contact Kay Miller at 435-6339 or kmiller@biloxi.ms.us

Reserved parking will be available for agency vehicles displaying a special parking pass.
No RVs or private vehicles without this special pass will be allowed in the Visitors Center parking lot. General parking is available in surrounding parking lots. If you with to drop off a disabled or elderly guest, volunteers will be on hand to seat them. There is limited room for caregivers and immediate family members.

Chairs and bleachers will be available for seating; however, you may wish to bring your own lawn chairs.
