City to host movie, family pool party; other news and notes

The City of Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department will co-host a drive-in movie on Friday and host a family pool party next week to celebrate National Recreation and Parks Month.

The drive-in movie, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, will be shown on the Town Green at dust with fun and games beginning at 5 p.m. The presentation is also co-sponsored by Main Street.

The Family Pool Party will be on Friday, July 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Biloxi Natatorium, 1384 Father Ryan Ave.

The event is open to children and their parents, who will be invited to enjoy hot dogs, chips, punch, listen to music from a local DJ and play games.

Lifeguards will be present at all times and swimmers must wear the proper swimsuit – boys’ suits must have a drawstring and liner.
