(Biloxi, MS) – The City of Biloxi joins in on the celebration of Disability Awareness Month in October with the 2011 Mayor’s Disability Awareness Health Fair.
The City of Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department will team up the Edgewater Mall and Disability Connection on Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Edgewater Mall South Entrance to hold a fun filled and informational health fair for individuals with disabilities.
The Health Fair will be filled with health booths, screenings and games such as the Wheelchair Obstacle Course and the Mayor’s Walk-in My Shoes with Gulf Coast Dignitaries. Entertainment will be provided by local special needs clients.
October has been designated by congress as Disability Employment Awareness Month. Through national and local activities, the public’s awareness of the contributions and skills of Americans with disabilities is increased.
