City briefs residents on upcoming Sunkist work

Nearly two dozen interested residents showed up at the Sunkist Country Club on Tuesday evening to hear about the city’s pending infrastructure work in Ancient Oaks and Sunkist neighborhoods.

Marvin G. Dalla Rosa of HNTB outlined the overall $355 million project before focusing on the 180-day, $1.38 million project that will begin in Ancient Oaks and Sunkist next week.

“We sent out 625 postcards that we hoped gave people all of the background and contact information they might need about this project,” Mayor A.J. Holloway said, “but we also told them we would have this meeting to answer any questions.”

Representatives of S.H. Anthony Construction Co., the contractor assigned to the project, were introduced to the audience. Residents also had the chance to review construction plans and discuss the scope of work with the contractor and the program manager.
