Casino Row to kick off weekly fireworks shows

For the third consecutive year, Casino Row celebrates the arrival of summer with the Friday Fireworks Extravaganza.

The weekly fireworks shows begin May 28 at 9 p.m. and will continue every Friday night through Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3. Each week’s show will be choreographed to themed music, such as Jimmy Buffett or disco.

Casino Row presents the weekly fireworks to the Gulf Coast community as a thank you for all the support shown over the years. The three casinos have not only joined in an entertainment alliance, but each is offering activities along with the fireworks.

Classic Effects by Events, a New Orleans-based special effects production company, will produce the fireworks shows. Owner David Spear has designed and produced thousands of displays, including those for Super Bowls, World Cup Soccer, “Live With Regis and Kelly,” Miss USA, Olympic Torch Relay, political rallies, military parades, and for minor league baseball and professional hockey teams.

“We have spent the past eight months designing fireworks and these displays will be even more spectacular than the year before,” Spear said. A number of the types of fireworks in the show will be making their U.S. debut.
Spear and his employees have worked with designers in China and Japan to create new fireworks specifically for the shows on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The fireworks can be viewed from the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor eastward to Casino Row, and each of the resorts in the Casino Row partnership will hold fireworks parties at their individual locations.

The Isle of Capri Casino Resort is hosting a fireworks pre-party on the Deer Island Pool Deck from 7 to 9 p.m., with food, drink specials, live entertainment and door prizes for IsleOne cardholders.

Casino Magic is also having a Fireworks party from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. by the pool on the tenth floor of the hotel, with food and drink specials, and free 3-D glasses for Magic Money Players Club members.

The fireworks party at the Grand Casino Biloxi begins at 8 p.m. with music and drinks at the Bayview Hotel Pool or at the top floor of the Grand Casino Hotel parking garage.
