The summer-long Casino Row weekly fireworks displays, which attracted thousands of visitors and locals to Point Cadet and the waterfront last year, kick off this weekend with a few revisions this year.
They’ll be every Sunday night at 9 through Labor Day weekend, and they’ll have a different theme each week, according to executives of the Isle of Capri, Casino Magic and Grand Casino, the three sponsors of the event. Last year’s shows were on Friday nights. This year, shows will be set to music that will air on Coast 102 FM.
“Our patrons enjoyed the exhilarating fireworks shows last year, so we’re giving them an even more powerful show this year,” said Bill Kilduff of Isle of Capri Casino Resort. “Casino Row has the best entertainment on the Coast and we prove it with our Sunday Spectacular fireworks show!”
John Ferrucci of Casino Magic Biloxi said, “Casino Row owns fireworks on the Gulf Coast. No where else on the Coast can you get special promotions all day and cap the night off with a thrilling fireworks event.”
In conjunction with the fireworks displays, Casino Row will offer weekly gaming and food and beverage promotions, plus a different fireworks show themed by a series of music selections ranging from Jimmy Buffet to Broadway hit smashes.
“There’s something to entertain all gaming enthusiasts at the Sunday Spectacular,” said Duncan McKenzie of Grand Casino Biloxi. “We are excited to produce an event that will attract new visitors to the Gulf Coast and give our Casino Row regulars a great Sunday activity with such variety.”
Casino Row is a marketing partnership among the three casinos in east Biloxi – Isle of Capri Casino Resort, Casino Magic Biloxi and Grand Casino Biloxi.
Mayor A.J. Holloway applauded the partnership for its efforts. “I don’t think you’ll find another community in the country that offers a weekly fireworks show. We’re very pleased that Casino Row is working to make it even better this year.”
