BPD cites officers in awards ceremony

Leaders of the Biloxi Police Department commended several officers, civilian workers and residents during the department’s quarterly awards ceremony this morning.

Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich and Police Chief John Miller presented awards during the ceremony, which was hosted by the VFW Post 2434.

Supervisors of the Quarter were Michael Brennan and Darren Lea; Vickie Lee was named Officer of Quarter, while Will Tannehill was named Civilian of Quarter, and Julie Parks was honored as Citizen of Qurter.

Awards also were presented to Officers of the Month Vickie Lee (July), Eli Humphrey (July), Joey Payne (August), Bryan Wallace (August) and Michael Davis (September)

Certificates of Commendation were presented to Justin Branning, Jackie Owensby and Desiree Hernandez. Former Biloxi Police Officer Michael Goldsworthy was also cited for his work on the department’s procedures manual.

Representatives of the U.S. Marine Corps were on hand to commend officers who helped coordinate a Marine Corps 911 Run on the Biloxi Bay Bridge. Those recognized were Tim McKaig, Bryant Vincent, Kit Manning and Keith Garner.
