Award-winning local historian Edmond Boudreaux will be signing copies of his new book, “The Seafood Capital of the World,” on Aug. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum’s Edgewater Mall location.
The book contains the history of the Biloxi’s maritime and seafood industry, with chapters on seafood factories, schooner races, the Blessing of the Fleet, pioneers of the industry, and the many ethnic groups who have worked in Biloxi’s seafood industry.
The bookbegins with the Mississippi Gulf Coast maritime story of the Native Americans, Colonials, and Ante-Bellum Period and ends with recent events from our current Mississippi Gulf Coast history.
