Biloxi to host fireworks shows Wednesday, Thursday nights

Biloxians will see two fireworks shows this week, one on Wednesday, the Fourth of July, and a Beau Rivage fireworks show on Thursday, July 5.

The city-sponsored show takes place Wednesday at 9 p.m. from the west end of Deer Island; the Beau Rivage show takes place Thursday at 9:30 p.m.

Staging the city show again this year will be Pyrotecnico, a Mandeville, La.,-based company that has produced the Biloxi fireworks show for six years, as well as those for such Biloxi events as the Casino Row and Christmas on the Water shows.

Biloxi Police, who will be patrolling U.S. 90 both nights, remind motorists that parking along U.S. 90 is allowed only in parking bays. Vehicles should not park on center medians, and motorists should use extra caution, particularly in the viewing spots between Casino Row and the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor.

Biloxi’s annual show is organized by the “Boom Boom Committee,” which uses funding from the city and more than three-dozen businesses to stage the production. To see an advertisement listing the sponsors of this year’s fireworks display, click here.

The Beau Rivage show will be produced by the world-renowned Grucci Brothers, a firm established in 1850 and recognized as “America’s First Family of Fireworks.” The resort’s show is part of a weeklong Independence Day observance, which includes its 32-story hotel being “dressed” for the occasion with a $1 million dollar architectural lighting system designed to honor and celebrate “America the Beautiful.”
