Biloxi to host child abuse prevention breakfast

Mayor A.J. Holloway will host mayors from across south Mississippi on Thursday, March 29 for a City Hall breakfast to proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The Proclamation Breakfast, which is co-sponsored by the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Wal-mart, is designed to bring attention to the issue of preventing child abuse. Mayors from across south Mississippi are scheduled to sign a proclamation during the 10 a.m. breakfast.

Among the mayors who have been invited to attend: Rusty Quave of D’Iberville, Brent Warr of Gulfport, Johnny L. Dupree of Hattiesburg, Dayton E. Whites of Lucedale, Connie Moran of Ocean Springs, Matthew J. Avara of Pascagoula, Leo McDermott of Pass Christian, Carl Scott of Petal, Tommy Longo of Waveland, and Jerry Alexander of Wiggins.
