Biloxi seeks Preservation Awards nominations

The City of Biloxi has a rich and diverse cultural and architectural history, and in  celebration of that history, Biloxi biannually presents Historic Preservation Awards to individuals, businesses, and organizations that are protecting and restoring our architectural history as well as those working to preserve or promote local cultural history and traditions.

The city is now seeking nomination for this year’s awards, which will be presented on Thursday, May, 26.  Nominees do not have to live in the City of Biloxi but the preservation efforts being recognized by the award should take place in Biloxi.

Said Biloxi Historical Administrator Bill Raymond: “Awards in past years have been given to homeowners for restoration efforts, professional preservationist, as well as individuals for volunteer work to promote our City’s diverse cultural heritage.”

Nominations forms are available on the city website biloxi.ms.us and must be submitted by Friday, May 13.  Details: Bill Raymond at (228) 374-3105 or braymond@biloxi.ms.us.
