OK, moms and dads, if for whatever reason you haven’t yet registered your child to attend Biloxi Public Schools, you have until Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. to register and still have your child be able to attend the first day of school, on Thursday, Aug. 7.
Those registering after Tuesday at 3 p.m. won’t be able to attend class until the next week, on Monday, Aug. 11. Registration takes place Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Biloxi public school your child will attend.
Superintendent Arthur McMillan last week decided to give parents a few extra days, until Tuesday, after an incoming Keesler family, not being transferred until after registration days, stressed the importance of their children attending the first day of school.
“We looked at the late-registration and decided we could speed things up on our end to give parents until Tuesday, Aug. 5, to register and still make that first day of class,” McMillan said. “We can’t stress to parents how important it is for their children to attend that first day of school.”
