Biloxi First to take aim at Reed Guice

Reed Guice, marketing wunderkind

Marketing guru and political consultant Reed Guice of Biloxi will be the roastee for the 15th annual Biloxi First Roast, which will take place Thursday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. at the IP Casino Resort & Spa.

The event is the major annual fundraiser for Biloxi First, a non-profit organization that has provided more than a quarter-million dollars in funding for innovative classroom projects in Biloxi Public Schools.

Guice and his late wife Shirley in 1975 launched a public relations firm, Guice & Guice Advertising, that went on to create a host of award-winning advertising campaigns for leading businesses along the Gulf Coast, and, at the same time, built a political consulting firm that over the years helped elect dozens of local and regional leaders across the Coast.

After selling his firm and fulfilling his employment contract with Godwin Group, Guice launched a new firm, the Guice Agency, with the help of his wife, Susan, and recently announced that his daughter, Angela, an award-winning consultant in her own right,  was joining the firm, renamed Guice & Guice.

Guice has earned the Advertising Federation’s highest award, the Silver Medal for outstanding contributions to the advertising industry, and in  2009, in recognition of his professional achievements, Reed was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the USM School of Mass Communication and Journalism.

Guice is a Fly Fishing Federation Certified Fly Casting Instructor and has set more than a dozen Mississippi salt-water fly fishing records.  His obsession with fly fishing has led him all over the world in search of fish.

Roasters for the affair will be David Sheffield, writer/producer; Ricky Mathews, former publisher of the Sun Herald and Times Picayune; Judy Guice, attorney; and John Hairston, CEO and president of Hancock Holding Company.

Tickets are $50 for an individual; $250 for a patrons sponsor, which admits two; or a $1,000 reserved corporate table for 10. To reserve your tickets, contact Ann Denison at 228-860-8871 or ann.denison@biloxischools.net; or Liz Joachim at 228-348-1762 or lj@fpcorso.com. Ticket money should be sent to Biloxi First, P.O. Box 488 Biloxi, MS 39533.
